6.6-litre turbo diesel V8 powers this shapely British hoonmobile

British sports car builder Trident has released images and specs on their new Iceni sports car. But, this isn’t like any other shed-built British sports car.

Instead of pumping gasoline into a high-strung V8, the Iceni is powered by a 6.6-litre turbo diesel V8 with 395 bhp and 700 lb-ft of torque. This pushes the car to near 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds onto a top speed of 305 km/h.

None of this performance comes cheap, as you’d imagine. The base price of the Iceni? £96,000.00 … or just over $177,000 in loonies.

If for some reason the base engine output isn’t enough and you have an extra $20,000, you can bump up the power to 430 bhp and 950 lb-ft of bone-crushing torque.

Still not enough? An extra $60,000 will bring the totals up to 660 bhp and 1050 lb-ft.

Blimey, indeed.
