Toronto, Ontario – A Toyota Prius has crossed Canada as the Delta Hotels and Resorts’ Community Cruiser, on a tour that saw the hotel company’s employees donate more than 2,597 volunteer hours to support community charities from coast to coast.
The 2010 Prius left Victoria, B.C. on June 1, 2010 and stopped in 34 different communities in all ten provinces, travelling 12,000 kilometres before making a final stop in St. John’s, Newfoundland on August 13th. The tour was part of Delta’s wider goal to raise $1 million and donate 10,000 volunteer hours to community charities during 2010.
The Prius used 591 litres of gasoline for the trip, at a total cost of $568 for fuel.
