2010 Suzuki SX4 Sportback
Chicago, Illinois – Suzuki unveiled a new Suzuki SX4 SportBack model at the Chicago Auto Show that features a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower and a standard six-speed manual transmission. A performance-tuned CVT (continuously variable transmission) with paddle shifters is optional.
The SportBack’s 2.0-litre engine has five percent more horsepower and 4 lb.-ft. additional torque than the standard SX4’s engine. SportBacks come in front-wheel drive only.
Styling differences include a subtle aero package, along with minor tweaks to both bumper and grille. A modest chin spoiler and side skirts direct air flow beneath the car, while a revised rear spoiler above the backlight better manages air over the car. Tires are low profile 205/50 17-inch and the entire car is lowered 15 mm when compared to the SX4 Crossover, providing a lower centre of gravity, aggressive stance and more dynamic handling. The roof rack found on the SX4 Crossover has been deleted.
No word on whether the SX4 SportBack will be available in Canada.
