Montreal, Quebec – Some of Montreal’s downtown streets will be closed on Friday, September 23, 2011 for the Centraide’s March of 1,000 Umbrellas charity event.
Between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., McGill College Avenue (west side) will be closed to traffic between Président-Kennedy Avenue and Saint-Catherine Street West.
From 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., street closures will include Saint-Catherine Street West from McGill College Avenue to Saint-Alexandre Street; Saint-Alexandre Street between Saint-Catherine Street and René-Lévesque Boulevard; and two westbound lanes on René-Lévesque Boulevard between Saint-Alexandre Street and De Bleury Street.
The event is expected to attract some 20,000 marchers, who will begin assembling at 11:30 a.m. on McGill College Avenue at the corner of Saint-Catherine Street.
