New model will slot between Encore and Enclave in Buick SUV lineup
Shanghai GM, General Motor’s Chinese arm, has revealed the new production-ready Buick Envision midsize SUV. The new model will be about the same size as the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain, slotting between the Buick Encore and Enclave in the tri-shield brand’s SUV lineup.
Named “Ang Ke Wei” in China, Envision will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 256 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque while also featuring stop/start tech, a six-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive. It also features styling from the Auto Shanghai 2011 concept of the same name.
When Envision reaches North American shores, the midsizer will probably be equipped with the same 3.6-litre V6 engine as the Equinox as an option.
The new model goes on sale in China later this year.
