Ottawa, ON. – Transport Canada has released its latest recalls, which may affect some Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and smart models.
Mercedes-Benz
Units Affected - 27
S-Class: 2011
On certain vehicles, the flange that attaches the fuel filter to the tank could eventually develop a crack and allow fuel to leak. Although any such leakage would be in an area where vehicle temperatures are too low for ignition, fuel leakage, in the presence of an external ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the fuel filter.
Porsche
Units Affected - 52
911 GT3: 2010
Certain vehicles used in track type racing events, and subjected to aggressive driving conditions, could experience rear wheel hub failure. Wheel hub breakage could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the rear wheel hubs and bearings using updated components.
smart
Units Affected - 10,242
fortwo: 2005, 2006
On certain vehicles, corrosion and/or dust accumulation may impair the function of the driver and passenger door latches and cause the latch pawl to stick. If this occurs, the door will not latch when shut and will remain unsecured. A vehicle operated in this condition would present a higher risk of personal injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the door latches with a modified version.
