Auto Motor und Sport says the next Golf will be significantly different from current model

While we are just getting a new Golf here in Canada, Auto Motor und Sport in Germany is saying the eighth-generation compact hatchback will be arriving as soon as 2017.

According to the German outlet, the next Golf will also depart significantly from the current generation – technically and visually – and may pave the way for a new design language for Volkswagen.

Weight reduction will also be in full effect, with the Golf expected to drop 50 kg while also gaining a number of safety and infotainment features, such as a head-up display and electronic assists.

Either this is fairly credible information from the Germans or they spent last week in this place.
