With between 365 and 375 hp, the M2 will be BMW’s new pocket rocket

As BMW attempts to create more derivatives than a Wall Street investment firm, there is one such offshoot we’re more than happy to welcome.

According to the a Bimmerpost news item on the 2addicts forum, a new BMW M2 is confirmed for late 2015 or early 2016 as a 2016 model year vehicle.

Powering the coupe will be a 3.0-litre turbo inline six-cylinder developing somewhere between 365 and 375 hp instead of a rumoured four-cylinder mill.

Limited production is not expected for the M2 as it was for the 1M Coupe, so we doubt it’ll appreciate like its predecessor.
