New York, New York – The New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) has announced that a 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 will be auctioned April 9 at the show’s Gala Preview in support of education programs.
Making its North American debut at the NYIAS, the 911 GT3 is valued at US$112,200. Funds raised from the auction will benefit East Side House Settlement (ESH), a social services agency, to support ESH college preparation programs and a computer technology centre for residents of a low-income residential neighbourhood in the South Bronx.
“This is a very special year for the Gala Preview of the New York International Auto Show,” said show director Candida Romanelli. “We are delighted to celebrate the tenth year of this great partnership with ESH and to continue to support their wonderful efforts to help children in the South Bronx.”
The Gala will feature a private preview of the entire Auto Show before it opens to the public, along with a special one-night-only Porsche exhibition, a cocktail reception, and a dinner for sponsors and benefactors.
“All of us in the Porsche organization are extremely proud to partner with East Side House, and I want to personally thank our Porsche Tri-State Dealers for donating this fabulous car,” said Detlev von Platen, president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America.
