RAM Commercial Light Duty will also receive major updates in 2017

While RAM may be its own brand now, the truck marque still doesn’t have many models within its range. At the FCA Investor Day yesterday, the biggest news wasn’t what we would see in the future, but when we would see it.

We’ve already covered Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge in previous articles.

RAM’s future looks bright, even if they aren’t adding any new models for the general public to the mix. Those looking for a lifestyle or mid-size truck to fill the gap left by the Dakota are in for some disappointment. If you are looking for a full-size pickup in the next few years, we have good news for you.

Highlights:

  • RAM 1500 (2015) – A “minor update” is due for 2015. Don’t expect much beyond some tweaks to easily changeable bits and revised styling.
  • RAM HD, Chassis Cab (2016) – Like the light duty trucks before it, the heavy duty and chassis cab RAM will receive a “minor update” in 2016.
  • RAM 1500, Commercial Light Duty (2017) – A “major update” will be due for both the 1500 and commercial light duty trucks for 2017.
  • RAM HD, Chassis Cab, Commercial Heavy Duty (2018) – A “major update” will be performed on the rest of the truck line in 2018, a year after the light duty line is redesigned.
