Pirelli and OZ Racing 18 inch tire and wheel combo fitted to Lotus E22 at Silverstone test

During one of the in-season Formula 1 testing sessions today, Pirelli rolled out their concept 18 inch tire wrapped around gold painted OZ Racing wheels to do demonstration laps. The combo was fitted to a current-year Lotus F1 Team E22 chassis and driven around Silverstone by Charles Pic.

While Pirelli says they are not actively pushing for the larger diameter rubber but they’d like their Formula 1 efforts to be more closely tied to their road tire business, especially as other series frequently use 18 inch wheels and tires.

What do you think of the new look? Let us know on the forum.
