New model likely to be next-generation Frontier

Nissan has been on quite a product kick in the last couple years. However, neither of their pickup trucks has really received that much attention.

That could change in a few days as Nissan posted the above image on Facebook and Instagram with the following words attached:

There’s a special member of the #Nissan family on the way. Due date: June 11th.

With the next Titan on the way for NAIAS in Detroit in January, the truck under the sheet could be the next Frontier.

Sporting LED daytime running lights under the sheer sheet, the truck looks to get reshaped headlights but a grille somewhere between the current model and the corporate V-motion language.

Nissan recently showed a Frontier in Chicago equipped with a 2.8-litre Cummins diesel to gauge consumer reactions. The oil burner was mated with an 8-speed ZF-sourced automatic transmission.

We will know more about the new model on June 11th.
