Toronto, Ontario – Today, Nissan Canada made two Canadian debuts, the all-new 2011 Nissan Quest minivan and the eye-catching Nissan Ellure concept, at the 2011 Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto. Also, making its highly-anticipated Ontario debut was the 100 per cent electric, zero-emission 2012 Nissan LEAF which will be arriving in dealerships nationwide this fall.
“Auto Show visitors have a lot to look forward to from Nissan this year like the next-generation sedan concept vehicle, Ellure, the all-new Nissan Quest breaking through the conventional minivan and a first look at the world’s very first mass-marketed, all-electric car,” said Judy Wheeler, Director of Marketing, Nissan Canada Inc. “Nissan gives everyone a vehicle they can drive today and continue to enjoy driving in the future.”
Completely redesigned with bold styling and innovative solutions for every family member, the all-new Quest went on sale in Canada this month. The Quest features Nissan’s award-winning VQ 3.5-litre V6 engine generating 260 horsepower. The all-new design incorporates a number of advanced safety systems including Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Traction Control System (TCS) among many other features. Standard convenience features like Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button start, quick release fold-flat seats, the segment’s only “always available” Permanent Rear Storage, a Tire Pressure Monitoring system with Easy Fill Tire Alert and available conversation mirror and an Advanced Climate Control System (ACCS) are sure to excite drivers. Children can enjoy the available DVD entertainment System with 11-inch VGA monitor and an auto bright function and 16 beverage holders to hold everyone’s drink.
An expression of Nissan’s long-term vision for the next generation of Nissan sedans, the Ellure concept combines the basic layout of a traditional mid-size sedan with a next-generation compact hybrid powertrain. The Ellure provides a wide, stable stance with ample interior room and a highly functional trunk with a smooth aerodynamic form. Its drivetrain is conceived as a supercharged 2.5-litre inline 4-cylinder with Intelligent Dual Clutch Control (one motor/two clutch design with lithium-ion battery) and 25 kW electric motor, matched with an Xtronic CVT™ and front-wheel drive. The Ellure also includes an independent suspension, regenerative braking, and advanced drive-by-wire electric/hydraulic steering to make sure the driving experience is as dynamic and rewarding as Ellure’s physical properties.
