Montreal, Quebec – The 43rd edition of the Montreal International Auto Show (MIAS) will open to the public from January 14 to 23, 2011 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. Every manufacturer will be on hand to present their latest models and technologies.
Special features at the show include:
Performance Zone – Some 40 modified vehicles will be on display in Level 7.
On Route to the Future – This environmentally-themed section is presented in collaboration with Hydro-Québec. It includes information on the latest technologies about electric vehicles and personal transport electrification. Hydro-Québec will also present the electric Mitsubishi i-MiEV, which is being tested by the company through the most important pilot project on electric vehicles in Canada.
Suzuki Test-Drives – Presented by auto HEBDO, this exhibit offers vehicles the chance to try the new Suzuki Kizashi. It’s first-come, first-served to take one of these vehicles for a spin around the Palais des congrès.
Plethore – The super car, made in Quebec, will be shown in its final version, ready for the road.
Auto Show Contest – The grand prize this year is a 2011 BMW 323i Luxury Edition, offered by BMW Canada, with an approximate value of $39,250. The draw will be held around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 23, 2011 in collaboration with Radio NRJ and La Presse/Cyberpresse. The finalists will be selected among Radio NRJ listeners, La Presse/Cyberpresse readers, and Auto Show visitors who have dropped off their contest coupons before 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2011.
Other prizes will be distributed to Auto Show visitors, including a trip for two to Tunisia, one of five $1,000 Sonic gas coupons, one of ten intensive anti-theft markings from Sherlock, and one of two $1,000 credits for automobile insurance from Desjardins General Insurance. Pink Days – On January 17, 18 and 19, the MIAS will donate $2.00 to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation for every ticket sold to a visitor wearing a pink garment or accessory.
Blood Donor Clinic – The traditional MIAS blood donor clinic, organized in conjunction with Héma-Québec and CTV Montreal, will be held at the Complexe Desjardins from Monday, January 17 to Friday, January 21.
Kia Motors Childcare Centre – Children aged three to ten can stay at the centre for three hours while their parents visit the show.
Star in a virtual road trip – Visit the Desjardins General Insurance booth to be filmed at the wheel of a convertible in front of a background animation and receive your personalized road trip by email. Use the video to enter the “Win a Made-to-Measure Trip” and a chance to win a $2,500 travel voucher.
