Mitsubishi UK is planning to publish real-world fuel economy figures for their lineup of hybrid vehicles in an effort to be more transparent with consumers, reports AutoExpress.

“We’d like to do a graph, maybe just a figure, starting with the PHEV but then rolling it out to other cars. It would come from customer information,” said Lance Bradley, UK managing director of Mitsubishi.

The automaker’s Outlander PHEV is rated at 148 mpg in the UK, thanks to plug-in hybrids being able to game the fuel economy rating system. Customers were complaining of achieving only 90 mpg.

“It’s crazy that people think that’s bad, but it’s all relative to the official figure,” explained Bradley.
