Montreal, Quebec – Mazda has presented the Canadian premiere of the new 2011 Mazda2 hatchback, along with the Mazda Active2 Snow concept, which showcases the Mazda2’s ability to meet the desires of customers to personalize their automobiles.
The Mazda2, the latest in a line of stylish, insightful and fun-to-drive small cars from Mazda, will launch in the Canadian market late in the summer of 2010.
The Mazda2 was first introduced in Europe, Japan and Australia in 2007, creating a unique offering in the subcompact segment through its design and outstanding driving performance. To date, approximately 370,000 units have been sold. It has won 48 automotive awards, including Car of the Year honours in Japan, New Zealand, Chile, Bulgaria and Greece. At the 2008 New York International Auto Show, it was selected as the 2008 World Car of the Year.
The Mazda Active2 Snow concept takes it a step further, with a more aggressive front bumper and side sill package, 17-inch wheels with Yokohama Advan Neova 008 maximum performance tires, and H&R coil-over suspension. It is finished in Frozen White with Active2 graphics, and includes a Thule roof rack system and matching snowboards.
