Lexus, Ford win EyesOn Design awards general news 2012 north american international auto show detroit Detroit, Michigan – The Lexus LF-LC and Ford Fusion have taken the top honours in the 2012 EyesOn Design Awards at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The awards honour the most significant automotive designs on display at the show, as determined by automotive designers, academic chairs of transportation design programs, and design leaders from other fields.

The LF-LC won as Best Designed Concept Vehicle, finishing over the Chevrolet TRU140S and Lincoln MKZ. The Ford Fusion was named the Best Designed Production Vehicle, defeating the BMW 3 Series and Cadillac ATS.

Chris Bangle, who designed for Opel, Fiat and BMW and who currently directs his own design studio in Italy, was named to a Lifetime Design Achievement Award.
