2011 Kia Sorento
Mississauga, Ontario – Kia Canada has announced the official Canadian debut of the all-new Sorento crossover SUV at the Montreal Auto Show. It will be the first vehicle built at the company’s new facility in West Point, Georgia.
Completely redesigned for 2011, the all-new Sorento uses a unibody design and can comfortably fit up to seven passengers, with more spaciousness and more comfortable ride than the previous generation model.
Available in LX and EX trim levels, the Sorento includes 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors with integrated LED turn signals, automatic headlamps and fog lamps.
Two engines are available, a 2.4-litre four-cylinder producing 175 horsepower, and a 3.5-litre V6 making 276 horsepower. Both use new six-speed transmissions for performance and fuel efficiency. Both engines can also be ordered in either front- or all-wheel drive. The all-wheel system uses an electronic locking differential that evenly distributes torque to the front and rear wheels at low speeds during severe weather conditions.
Depending on the model, features include Bluetooth, USB audio inputs, rearview camera, automatic climate control, heated seats, navigation system and premium audio. Standard safety features include side and curtain airbags, active front head restraints, electronic stability control, and a new hood designed to crumple and flex strategically to decrease pedestrian injury in the event of a crash.
