Seoul, South Korea – Kia will hold the world premiere of its all-new Optima, sold in Canada as the Magentis, at the 2010 New York International Auto Show in April.
“The next-generation Optima possesses the power to surprise,” said Peter Schreyer, Kia’s chief design officer. “It’s a car that people will simply not expect from Kia, and that’s exactly what we set out to achieve.”
The new model includes a raked roofline, extended wheelbase, flared wheel arches and a new interpretation of Kia’s “tiger” family face, edged with projector headlamps.
“The Optima embodies Kia’s confident new design direction,” Schreyer said. “It’s a global car with individual appeal.”
