Toronto, Ontario – The production version of the new Honda Insight hybrid will make its world debut in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, followed later in the month by its Canadian debut at the Montreal International Auto Show.
Honda said the model is expected to be the most affordable hybrid car available when it goes on sale in the spring of 2009.
The Insight, which uses the same name as the first hybrid introduced to North America, is expected to have annual global sales of 200,000 units, with approximately 100,000 in North America, and will use a new, interactive, driver-focused fuel economy enhancement technology called Ecological Drive Assist System (Eco Assist) to help drivers achieve enhanced fuel efficiency.
