GM’s Advanced Design Studio in North Hollywood rumoured to be designing next mode of transport for caped crusader

Gone will be The Tumbler, Christopher Nolan’s military inspired Batman carrier. After designing many of the vehicles for Transformers, it seems GM will take on the task of creating the next Batmobile.

Batman fansite “Batman on Film” is reporting rumours the next Batmobile will adopt a new design language for the next superhero film starring Ben Affleck. Also, according to the site, GM’s Advanced Design Studio in North Hollywood will design the caped crusader’s next hero ride and an old Cadillac will be featured in the film.

The first Batmobile was designed by George Barris, based on the 1955 Lincoln Futura Concept car. It was sold at Barrett-Jackson in January of this year for $4.2 million.
