Oshawa, Ontario – Members of the Canadian Auto Workers Union (CAW) Local 222 at Aditya Birla Minacs in Oshawa, Ontario have set a strike date of March 22. The workers support technicians who provide information to GM dealerships on warranty issues.
The workers unanimously rejected a final offer vote forced on them by the company. The members work in offices within General Motors’ Canadian headquarters in Oshawa.
CAW national representative Keith Osborne said that the company is demanding “massive concessions from the 19 workers in this bargaining unit.”
