Montreal, Quebec – The finalists have been named for the 2012 Canadian Car of the Year and Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year Awards, as voted by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC).
The finalists for Canadian Car of the Year are the Hyundai Accent, Hyundai Elantra and Kia Optima, while the three vehicles for Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year are the BMW X3, Dodge Journey and Volkswagen Touareg TDI Clean Diesel. The finalists for Best New Design are the Hyundai Veloster, Jaguar XKR-S and Range Rover Evoque.
The winners in each category will be named the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto on February 16.
The finalists all won their respective categories during “Testfest,” where 70 of Canada’s top auto journalists spent four days in back-to-back testing of 170 all-new or significantly-new 2012 vehicles.
