Detroit, Michigan – The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit hosted more than 650,000 people, including nearly 5,500 journalists from more than 40 countries, before finishing on January 25. The show drew its largest attendance figure on Sunday, with more than 92,000 people coming through the doors.

The 2009 NAIAS featured 53 vehicle unveilings, including 34 worldwide debuts and 19 North American debuts. The show also raised more than US$2.6 million at its annual black-tie Charity Preview gala on January 16.

For the first time in the show’s history, its Michigan Hall was converted into a ride-and-drive educational experience, allowing more than 25,000 participants an opportunity to experience the latest vehicles featuring hybrid technology.
