Charlotte, North Carolina – Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) has announced that it will move its corporate headquarters from Charlotte, North Carolina to Lancaster County, South Carolina in 2009. The new facility will be located approximately 19 km from the current facility and will house CTNA’s corporate workforce of more than 300 employees. Its production and warehouse facility, which employs approximately 160 people, is under lease and will remain in Charlotte.

“The move to South Carolina is an important step in our overall growth strategy at Continental Tire,” said Dr. Alan Hippe, President of CTNA and CEO of the Continental Group. “We will be able to put CTNA in an enhanced competitive position and continue to invest in growing our business and our customer base.”

CTNA will invest approximately US$11 million in land and development of the 75,000-square-foot facility. Construction is currently underway and is expected to be completed in early 2009. The company also has facilities in Columbia and Blythewood, South Carolina.
