New model may receive 9-speed transmission, Pentastar V6 power.
We may be in for a new Chrysler
Sebring 200 at the beginning of next year, sporting Tigershark and Pentastar power flowing through a 9-speed automatic transmission, Automotive News reports.
The new car, set to go on sale in January 2014, will be sold as a 2015 model year vehicle. And, if Chrysler gets their way, it won’t be a fleet queen like the outgoing model. Instead, the Auburn Hills automaker wants to dominate the mid-size market and set a new design direction for the Chrysler brand with the new car.
The Dodge Avenger, a mechanical twin of the Chrysler 200, may not have an assured future, as it is set to die by 2015 and replaced by a crossover in 2016. Because that worked really well when they replaced the Neon with the Caliber.
