Toyota trots out well-equipped off-roaders with same mechanical hearts in Chicago

We’ve all been waiting to see who would have the guts to take on the Ford Raptor. While putting your bets on one of the other Big Three would have been safe, it’s Toyota that’s bringing a set of three go-anywhere machines to Chicago.

The new TRD Pro line adds some serious equipment to Toyota’s two trucks – Tundra and Tacoma – and the traditionally capable 4Runner.

All three will benefit from TRD Bilstein shocks with remote reservoirs, TRD-tuned front springs, front skid plate, unique front fascias, floor mats, shift knobs, and black wheels.

The Tundra will also get a 2-inch lift at front, a decreased spring rate, 18-inch wheels, TRD dual exhaust, TRD PRO quarter panel bed stamping, unique interior seat colour with red stitching, and unique IP ornament insert.

TRD Pro Tacomas will also receive a front 2-inch lift and decreased spring rate, 16-inch beadlock-style wheels, TRD exhaust, and black TRD PRO badging.

4Runners in TRD Pro guise will see a front 1.5-inch lift, an additional inch of suspension travel, 17-inch TRD alloys, black TRD badging, and front and rear lower bumper accents.

All models will be 4×4 equipped and it’s probably safe to say they will be the most expensive options in their respective lineups.
