Montreal, Quebec – The Montreal International Show Show (MIAS) Charity Preview evening, held January 15, helped to raise $343,305 to benefit five medical charities in Greater Montreal.
The money will go to the Montréal Sacré-Coeur Hospital Foundation, Pierre-Boucher Hospital Foundation, Foundation du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal, the McGill University Health Centre Foundation, and the Santa Cabrini Foundation. The fundraising event was presented and sponsored by the Montreal Automobile Dealers Corporation Foundation and the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
Since its premiere in 2005, the event has raised over $1,443,305 for health care communities. The 2009 Charity Preview included actor Raymond Bouchard as spokesperson, personalities from Quebec’s artistic community, jazz music, dinner and door prizes.
“Over the past five years, the money raised has greatly helped support Montreal’s medical community,” said Stéphane St-Louis, MIAS president. “Once again this year, we are very proud to be able to help five foundations whose hard work and dedication remain essential to the health and well-being of everyone within the Greater Montreal community.”
