2011 Chevrolet Camaro convertible
Montreal, Quebec – The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro convertible has made its Canadian premiere at the Montreal Auto Show. Production began in Oshawa, Ontario in January and the new model goes on sale in February.
The convertible will be offered in similar model configurations as the Camaro coupe. The standard model will have a 312-horsepower direct-injection V6 engine, while the SS model will feature a 6.2-litre V8 producing 426 horsepower. A six-speed manual transmission will be standard, with a six-speed automatic optional.
The power-folding top retracts in about 20 seconds and is built in partnership with the same manufacturer as the Corvette’s convertible top, and operates in a similar manner. A single latch, located at the centre of the windshield header, makes the top easy to operate with one hand.
The Camaro convertible will start at $33,995, while the SS model will start at $43,255.
