New series of short flicks confirmed by North American marketing VP

Back in the day of 56Kbps modems and dialup Internet connections, BMW did something unheard of in the day but has now become ubiquitous with the advent of YouTube. Together with marketing firm Fallon and a legendary selection of directors and actors, including Clive Owen as the protagonist and directors Ang Lee and Guy Ritchie for starters, the German automaker produced two full series of short firms featuring the best cars they had to offer.

Now, some 12 years after the last film was produced, BMW is set to reignite the series.

BMW North America’s new vice president of marketing, Trudy Hardy, let slip the plan to bring back BMW Films at the 2014 Automotive News World Congress in Detroit. However, Hardy nor BMW officials would comment any further.

While we wait with baited breath for this announcement to come to fruition, check out the former series below.
