Mission, British Columbia – Over 100 vintage race cars are set to compete at the Rivers Edge Race Track, in Mission B.C., Saturday August 16th & Sunday August 17th.
The race weekend will include a salute to German race cars and a special celebration race for Formula Vee race cars to celebrate Formula Vee’s 45th anniversary.
The vintage race weekend has matured into a festival of on-track and off-track activities including automotive exhibits, food, concessions, hot laps on track, and an open paddock where visitors can talk to the drivers and view the cars up close. Kees Nierop, ex Porsche works driver at LeMans, Sebring and Daytona, will be the guest of honour.
Historic Motor Races 2008 is run by the Vintage Race Club of B.C. and first ran in 1999.
Admission fee at the gate is $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for students, and free for children under 12. More details are available at www.vrcbc.ca
