Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario – Members of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) are meeting this week to evaluate vehicles and name the winners of the Canadian Car of the Year Awards.

Journalists from across Canada, including those from www.Autos.ca, will assess vehicles in eleven categories. The winners of those categories, which will be named at a press conference on Friday, will then go on to compete for the overall Canadian Car of the Year and Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year awards. These two winners will be announced at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto next February.

In each category, judges must drive all of the vehicles in each category back-to-back on a single day, following the same route. Cars are also driven on a closed performance course, while SUVs are taken on an off-road course. Vehicles eligible for the award must be new or substantially revised for the 2011 model year.
