New drop top model will probably be available in North America.
The Audi A3 hatchback, which is basically an up-badged Volkswagen Golf, is getting a stablemate.
Audi has released some early images of the new A3 Convertible ahead of Frankfurt, and this new model has a grand chance of being available for North American consumption.
The four-seat ragtop will have a fully automatic roof with a glass rear window and the car will have a choice of three engines: 1.4L TFSI four-cylinder, 1.8L TFSI four-cylinder (which will probably be the base engine for North America), and a 2.0L TDI. A later S3 Cabriolet will be powered by a 2.0L TFSI four-cylinder engine sporting 300 hp.
The 2015 A3 Convertible will be revealed officially later this week in Frankfurt.
