Same trim lines as TFSI models but no quattro available
It seems Audi Canada has left a gift under the noses of all of us on their website. The configurator now lists the 2015 Audi A3 TDI model along with specs and pricing.
The diesel A3 sedan will receive a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 150 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque between 1750 and 3000 rpm. Power will be sent to the front-wheels exclusively through an S tronic automatic transmission like the A3 gas models.
Even without all-wheel drive or a manual, the A3 TDI will still be good for a sprint to 100 kp/h in 8.4 seconds onto a top speed of 209 km/h. That makes the TDI the slowest option off the line compared to the two gasoline engine options, but it will probably get there much more efficiently.
TDI models will also be available in the same trims as their gasoline counterparts – Komfort, Progressiv, and Technik – at a starting price of $34,900 to a top-trim price of $41,850 before a la carte options and destination.
