Audi Canada reveals the 5-door model is under consideration for the Canadian market

When Audi decided to bring only the sedan version of the new A3 to North America, there was a collective sigh from those of us in the Great White North who love hatchbacks. However, that may change in the not to distant future.

According to Audi Canada’s Twitter account, the A3 Sportback (read: hatchback) may make its way to Canada after all. While Americans are slightly averse to hatchbacks and wagons, the A3 Sportback might still be sold in Canada where demand for such cars is stronger, especially in premium segments.

However, if it is decided to sell the A3 Sportback here, it won’t arrive until well into 2015, probably as a 2016 model.
