Irvine, California – The all-new 2011 Kia Optima has achieved the highest possible score for crash safety ratings with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the first Korean-built vehicle to achieve the top score in the new, more stringent tests.
The Optima was also previously named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Previous generations of the Optima were named the Magentis in Canada. Standard features on the Optima include six airbags, anti-whiplash active front head restraints, side-impact door beams, and electronic stability control.
