WRX to start at $29,995 and WRX STI will be an extra $8,000

When the new Subaru WRX and WRX STI start arriving at dealers this spring, the WRX will get a nice drop in price to the tune of almost $2,500. STI versions will also have their price cut, but only by nearly $200. Still, anything is better than an increase.

The WRX can be had with either a six-speed manual transmission or optional Sport Lineartronic continuously variable transmission. Equipped with a 2.0-litre BOXER four-cylinder engine, the WRX produces 268 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.

Still only available with a six-speed manual transmission, the 2.5-litre BOXER four-cylinder powered WRX STI gets 305 hp at 6,000 rpm and 290 lb-ft of torque.

Both models get standard all-wheel drive, just like every other Subaru save the BRZ.
