GMC midsizer expected to get same powertrain options as Colorado

While General Motors teased the new midsize truck twins together, the Detroit automaker revealed only the new Colorado in Los Angeles. Since the new trucks were developed in concert, AutoGuide is predicting the GMC Canyon will be revealed next month in Detroit.

Canyon is expected to get the exact same engine options as new Colorado – a base 2.5L four-cylinder, a 3.6L V6, and a 2.8L four-cylinder diesel for the second model year. The Colorado has the option of a manual transmission for the base engine and this could be true for the Canyon as well.

More details will be available closer to the North American International Auto Show next month.
