Government of Canada Plans to Reduce Heavy Truck Emissions

The Government of Canada has initiated proposed regulations that will improve fuel efficiency and help reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from 2018 model year heavy-duty vehicles by up to 23% from those sold in 2010.

Ecomotors currently going trials with the military and Chinese heavy vehicle manufacturers, if successful the new engine could meet the new guidelines.

I see the achilles heel being emissions controls. The pistons open and close the ports vs. valves which can be timed independent of the piston travel. That has been one of the issues with all 2 strokes and the Mazda rotary engine. As always time will tell.
