A 2011 or later Equinox / Terrain is likely ideal for maximum confidence.

" Seek out as new a unit, with as much factory warranty remaining, as possible."

That's very wise advice when purchasing any used car. In my experience, it's abundantly worth it.

If these really are capable of the claimed mileage of 6.1L/100km in the real world, why isn't mileage one of the things owners like about them?
And some cretins think I hate cars.

No doubt the 6.1 is for highway driving.  And for an FWD.  Fuelly rates the 2010-2014 Equinox at about 23mpg.  Which probably is combined city and highway driving, and also in US gallons.  Converted to L/100km, it's over 10.

If 10 is the combined number, I rather doubt the Equinox can get 6.1 on the highway.

I was worried because that's better than even the Escape Hybrid FWD, which I think is 6.7 hwy.  And our AWD, which is getting 7 in summer conditions.  Even though the Equinox is overall newer technology, it still shouldn't get better mileage than a similar-sized hybrid.
