Just got back from a trip to NW Arkansas from Ottawa.

km/miles each way = 2347 / 1461
fuel used (average each way) = 53.095 US gallon
Calculated fuel economy = 27.52 MPG (US) -or- 8.55 litres/100km
Average hwy cruising speed = 115 km/h = 71.6 mph [actual]
Trip overall average speed (incl. stops) = 101 km/h = 62.9 mph

Impressive mileage for a 3.2 V6. Mind you my old TT 1.8T (w/ multiple mods) was good for 7.3 litres/100 km = 32.7 for the same trip last year. 5 mpg difference = meh. ;-)

FYI the car has 149,000 km on the odometer and it's equipped with the DSG. It's got newish Continental ExtremeContact DW summer high performance tires....not exactly high mileage Prius tires.

That's pretty good for a 6 cylinder performance car.  What's the rpm's at that speed?

My brother took these really great shots of my TT at a 1morelap session this Friday night. This is the first time this car was pushed for real as I was trying to save it for after 2 long summer road trips. It's a solid performer and turns in very eagerly. The power delivery is linear and the electronic nannies (traction control and stability control) can be fully defeated...really nice for the track! I discovered that the dual-clutch transmission is smarter than me and that active suspension in track mode is very firm and really cancels the roll as you can see in the pictures. In sport mode the DSG transmission does rev-matching downshifts and takes inputs from several sensors to decide when/if to upshift/downshift. So I tried the paddle shifters but couldn't match the car's electronic brain for accuracy. Mods? Proper track-ready tires, better brake pads, slightly stiffer springs in that order.

It was fun seeing you yesterday afternoon.  Neat that you and wing went out for a spin in the 944. And those track rims and tires you bought were the deal of the century!

Missed this one.  That's a really great looking car!  Nice pics too.  My favorite are always the turn-in shots.

Thank you!  The active suspension really keeps the car level.  You can especially see this in the video:

Uncanny and almost feels like cheating.  ;)

Looks like your 4th lap was your best, seemed like you were hitting all your marks & the car was moving!!  How do you find it compared to the last TT?  I'm guessing you don't have this one dialed in all the way yet though... I know you did mention some suspension & tire changes  ;)  When is your next time out?  I'd like to get out at least once more this year, just not sure if I'll get the chance.

Yes, I was getting up to speed with the car.  Fiddled with different settings including turning off the electronic nannies.  After I almost ran out of brakes at the end of Rocky Road I turned back on the stability control as a knee-jerk reaction (like they're related?  D'oh!) which turned out to be a mistake as it seriously curtails any hoonage in Temptation.  I was trying a new double-apex line through there at one point.  I think the car needs some kind of brake pad upgrade before anything else (or a driver upgrade LOL) followed by some track rubber and slightly stiffer springs in that order.  Seriously though the brakes are fine.  I just need to manage them better.

I might go out on Friday September 16th as Calabogie is rewarding those who instructed on the Novice Day in April with free track time all day.  Yay!  I will for sure book Sunday 25 September as 5 Wheel Drive can make that date too.

I was looking at September 24th & 25th as well, will stay in touch as the date gets closer & see what the weather will do. Can 5 Wheel Drive go out in his Miata those days without a roll bar?
