Seats were the catalyst.  45.5 inches of leg room and of course the thigh extender.  For tall people it's a slice of heaven.

I've driven a SR model numerous times and wouldn't give you 2 cents for it.  Jarring ride, piped in engine sound  ::).  But this SV is a near luxury mid sized FWD sedan at a bargain price.  It's fast, tires are 245/45/18 so ride and handling is smooth and above average for the type of vehicle it is plus it's Buick quiet.  Tranny is great.  Info center is fantastic.  Heated wheel, great sound, parking sonar ... all the little things standard.

Do you still have the Camry Hybrid?

Congrats!

Why this over Camry or Avalon?  A little more sporty and exciting? Just something different?

Thanks.  I let it go a few times on the highway just to see what it could do, on 87 octane  :rofl2: , but in this car it's about mpg preservation and chilling out.

I just remembered the MAIN reason for this purchase ..... REMOTE START.  Not cold enough to verify, but depending on outside temp the car's computers will turn on the appropriate heater and defoggers.  I kick my wife's ride out of the garage when the snow and salt appear and she is none to keen to scrape ice off the windows.

I thought you were a Toyota guy through and through!

Do you still have the Camry Hybrid?

No.  83K km and it was flawless, but I couldn't really fit behind the wheel and the summers were toast, winters were marginal and the front rotors needed turning because of such lite pedal pressure needed.  It was my wife's daily and it was 3 years, 3 months into a 4 year lease and the buyout was $17,900 and it wholesaled for $17,600.  So pretty good.

So thinking that the dollar was going to sink to 70 cents by next summer I opted to get into something now before another round of price increases.

As for Toyota, well ya, still in the camp, but there is nothing there.  The 2016 Camry Hybrid, under the skin, is an exact copy of the 2012.  The V6 XLE is the same story.  Doesn't come remotely close to the Max on any level and the equivalent lease is $60 more a mth.   3% 48mth lease  to Maxima's .9%   ???

See above regarding the Camry.  The Avalon isn't in the same category. It's a very large car. Price is too high.  Less comfy seat and less driver's legroom.  No heated steering wheel or remote start which was the objective going in.

As for some different?  Way less $$$.  The Max is a steal this month anyways.

Very nice choice!!

I really like the new Maxima, but not sure if I can talk the wife into a non-awd car.  The Murano may work for her though.

Every review over the years shows the Maxima, Impala, Passat, and Avalon as competitors.  Sometimes Lacrosse, and Volvo S60

There is a good market for the Camry Hybrid for taxis.  The cab guys fight over them.

What kind of mileage did the hybrid produce?

So thinking that the dollar was going to sink to 70 cents by next summer I opted to get into something now before another round of price increases.
