Not being allowed to post external links (is that so one cannot post correct info/proof of writers incorrect info).

Pretty sure it's to prevent new users (based on post count) from spamming the forums.

No, seems far more likely it's a conspiracy to prevent anyone from disputing the factual content of a posted article.  Yep, I'm sure that's it.

With respect to Ford's warranty and Elion's extraction from Ford.ca.

I extracted this from the Ford.ca -"Fiesta Specifications Vehicle Highlights" page (cut and paste)

Bumper to Bumper: 3 years / 57,000 kilometres
 Powertrain: 5 years / 57,000 kilometres
Safety Restraint System: 5 years / 57,000 kilometres
Corrosion (Perforation only): 5 years / Unlimited miles
Roadside Assistance Program: 5 years / 57,000 kilometres

And from a downloaded Fiesta Brochure the following:

  Basic Coverage: 3 years/60,000 km
• Powertrain Limited Warranty: 5 years/100,000 km
• Corrosion Perforation Warranty: 5 years/unlimited distance
• Roadside Assistance: 5 years/100,000 km

Talk about doublespeak

I would run far, far away from the dual clutch if it only comes with a 57K Km warranty.
Would still run far away if it is 100k Km warranty.

Really?  Posters here really think Ford Canada would reduce their warranty coverage from 60,000km to 57,000  :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

2016 Ford Fiesta , found at Ford.ca
• Basic Coverage: 3 years/60,000 km
• Powertrain Limited Warranty: 5 years/100,000 km
• Corrosion Perforation Warranty: 5 years/unlimited distance
• Roadside Assistance: 5 years/100,000 km

Not being allowed to post external links (is that so one cannot post correct info/proof of writers incorrect info). So posters here taking shots really want proper information can search for it yourselves. But I am sure by the tone of most posters on autos.ca it is much more fun to continue as you do.

Hi mate, link limit is for new users only. The 57,000km warranty is lifted from the Ford.ca website, as mentioned later in this thread. And at this link: http://www.ford.ca/cars/fiesta/specifications/view-all/
And in the photo attached:

Maybe a Ford rep could clear this muddled mess up. Probably just a misprint on the website.

 :iagree:

The Ford DCT should be a complete embarrassment to that manufacturer.

In most cases the length of a Ford warranty is meaningless since Ford Canada has a disturbing tendency to claim most things are either "working as designed" or not covered. One of the stingiest warranty coverage manufacturers around.

Last I checked the only issues were with myfordtouch and the dct. Both avoided by buying the manual transmission SE model  ;D

The only Fiesta I'd take is the ST variant.

Add the RS in for me.  But it is a tad pricey.

Doh.  I got confused with the Focus RS.

Although, a 2.0L turbo AWD Fiesta sounds like fun.
