With a VW I'd be worried the air suspension would get stuck  ;D

See, that didn't take long - Jacob tackles the Indy 500 tour in a VW Touareg with broken air suspension. A winner story!
See? ;)

Ha! I didn't want to kill my family!
Tell you what though, I will work as hard as I can to find something truly ridiculous to take next year.

Can't believe you made it all the way in an FGC without something catch on fire, next time don't risk it, take a Toyota with 600,000km+, it will be safer

Can we make him go in an Arthur Dent special? That would be an epic road trip. The resulting article and pictures would be for the ages, forever immortalized in CTC lore.

Editors, make it so.

Well done!

But that's a proper, over built, over engineered MB, I meant like a newer slapped together, rental spec FGC.....coast to coast.

not so fast...my friend's 1 year old Focus caught on fire during a road trip to Mosport a couple of years ago...had the car about 5 months...written off in the parking lot at Mosport (their fire crew put it out)...replaced it with a Fusion (which has been trouble free).

Another unbelievably overweight "truck" from a German maker with a massive price tag.  Suppose at least Porsche is using some of the windfall profits to give us things like the Cayman.

I just love Indy. And the city. And the restaurants.

It's the motorsport trips we look most forward to every year. I was REALLY upset when MotoGP stopped going there. By far the best motorsport weekend I've ever attended.

If anyone ever goes..send me a PM. I'll tell you where to stay, where to eat, etc

They should really pull a Range Rover/Land Rover and go all aluminum to shave weight.  Would likely help performance and fuel economy.  And Lord knows, at this price, they should be able to.  This is definitely a lot larger than a Cayenne or Toureg though.  More in line with an LR4 or forthcoming Discovery (not Disco Sport, which is a totally different animal).
