It still looks hideous.  Can't believe they still have the fortitude to make these abominations.

i'd never buy one, but i think it looks a little better.  But that's not to say it looks good.

It looks 5x better than the original though. Regardless, the Patriot is still far more attractive, IMO.

In the picture looking in from the rear hatch - are the two rearmost inside panels really different colours (dark grey on the right, beige/brown on the left) or is it just the lighting?

Yeah, I'm not a CVT hater like many here are (the one in the Maxima works quite well, for example) but I drove a Caliber once and it was truly awful.

When they announced the availability of the 6-speed for 2014 i was thrilled... but only because i sell them. if i was actually in the market for a cute-ute, the compass wouldn't be on the list due to it's aging styling on the interior.

overall, they are a decent little awd (i prefer to say that then call it a 4x4). decent mileage, good use of space (can fit 9 feet worth of ladder i discovered with the gate down[keep in mind, 9 length folded, not height!]), exterior i don't mind...

it's a nice vehicle... but there are other options in the segment that beat it in almost all categories.

Despite all the hate, the Compatriot racked 50% of Jeep sales for quite a few years.

The updated Compass actually looks good in some wheel / colour combos, and post-incentive pricing is pretty competitive. Loaded upper trims, of course, don't offer the best value. You can probably get a decent awd version (with the new slushbox) for less than a fwd Rav4 with black plastic door handles. For soccer moms on a budget, that seems to count, as I'm seeing dozens of these since they received the face lift.

Yes, but sales were significant in the US, too.

The upcoming new gen will be based on a Fiat platform.

It's a big improvement over the original, but not nearly enough to entice me to pay $35,000.00.  I don't care what it has for equipment.

Ive never thought any brand new Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge product was priced appropriately....... the prices on models 3 years old always seem more applicable
in proportion to the quality.... For years I've liked almost everything they've came out with from a style point of view,
this Compass being a definite exception.... blech... they've also been at the bottom of the list for fuel economy too... that's why I got rid of both Cherokees !

yeah, i was surprised when i had a customer some in telling me he wanted the limited 4x4 compass due to it being the most volume and best fuel economy on a 4x4 for under 30 thousand...

he had a whole file of things and had done his research... i wasn't going to doubt him, but i had my reservations.

You don't have to.  It's a $17,245 truck, everything else is an option.

 for an effort. I don't get the exterior styling but very much like what they've done with interior. Looks simple yet functional and easy on the eye. Take that new Rav4  ;)
The leather seating looks gorgeous.

Not bad for a "bottom of the pack" CUV. At list is has a proper 4 wheel drive. For me is in the same category as CR-V or RAV4 style wise. Reliability is suppose to be worse though.
