$69k in options. Percentage of the base price wise, is sounds reasonable to me. It's like buying a a car with some options whose base price is $30k for $35k.

I think the word "brutality" in the review summarizes the Aventador nicely. Personally, I'm drawn more to the Hurican (sp?), and for some reason even more to the previous Gallardo, than the Aventador/Murcielago. But if you want brutal (as in the physical sense, not a synonym for "terrible"), loud, and over-the-top, this looks like just the ticket...

Do the auto journos get free reign with these supercars, or is there a chaperon? Or a list of conditions before the test drive?

Great line. Sounds like an incredible experience.

Interesting the Aventador, for all its drama and being a top-of-the-range Lambo, doesn't have a rear wing, fixed or otherwise. Don't get me wrong, I think it looks way better without it, but not having some kind of outrageous rear aero, functional or not, seems antithetical to what Lamborghini's are supposed to be about.

No chaperone with this one, but the waiver we sign puts us at risk for various items that keep us in check... I did not drive it myself (because of that waiver), but Peter did demonstrate some of its speed, but I don't think we did manage the best 0-100 times as we did not have the time and space to properly and safely test it while i was with him.

Not that I would say "NO" to this vehicle. Much prefer Ferrari's over Lamborghini's. If I had to pick a Lamborghini, it would be a Diablo or a Countach.
