This car had the right amount of mean-looks to go with the muscle. It should've won either best actor or supporting actor in Vanishing Point.

I agree.  I love the 1970 Challenger myself.  It should also win an Emmy for its role in Burn Notice.  At least I think it's a 1970 Challenger.  I always get the Charger and Challenger of that era confused a little bit.  I was never around during the heyday of the musclecar era, but I wish I had been.  I love the rumble of those old V8's.

I believe that is a Charger, the gen style after the General Lee.

This was a really tuff looking car! I'd probably own a mustang from that era over the challenger, but man, what a car!

Nice review....But, you use Liters VS cubic inches to describe the engine displacements in these vehicles..
Was Canada on the metric system in 1970?  The terminologies I recall are:  318,360, 383, 427 Hemi and the 440 Magnum..
These were all nomenclatures that made Mopar the speed monster that it was at that time.. Thanks bro    Jack

I agree, however, your recollection isn't 100% correct.  The Hemi was 426 cubic inches.  ;)

One of my uncles had a 1970 Challenger. He lost a front fender on the highway because it has rusted around the attachment points. This was sometime in 1971 IIRC.
