Beautiful Civic. It's hard to find rust free Civics of that vintage even in rust-free Vancouver. You must have put a lot of love and care into that car.
My parents would say that I was going to wash the paint off it. ;D

I had the D16A6 engine in my 1988 Honda Civic Wagon RT4WD as well, although it was only tuned for 102 HP in 1988. Great engine.
IMHO the D16A6 had a different character than the later and much loved B16, B18 series engines. It was more spunky in the lower revs which made it a bit more fun around town. However, it didn't have that high reving character of  the B series engines.

I'm still disappointed that I never got to own a Prelude. By the time the prices became palatable there were few left that weren't beat on and/or distastefully modded.

Agreed. That generation of Prelude is one of my favorite Japanese 90's cars, refined enough for daily duty but still loads of fun.

Agreed... I always wanted a Prelude too but never got around to buying one for the reasons you mention. I know that the sales volume aren't big for sports coupes but I think Honda could really use a Prelude type halo car these days.

Loved my Prelude. Bought a two year old 1997 (just like the picture below) with ~48K and drove it for nearly 10 years.

My 80's Mazda pickup did me well for many, many years:

Was sorry to see it go.

That said, compared to a modern vehicle it was probably not the thing to get into an accident with.

I had a 1994 Stealth TT......that was a fun car.  More of a fast GT than all out sports car.  But nonetheless....was fun!

I experienced my 1st 4 wheel drift as a passenger in a Stealth TT. Couldn't wipe the grin off my face for hours.

Understand your comment about it being more of a GT though. Just a bit too big and heavy to be an all out sports car.

Also FWD based so the majority that were sold were a bit lackluster in comparison to their appearance.

The TT were 45 front, 55 rear power split.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

^^ Too bad the engine is small (size of a big k-cup of coffee) for serious fun.

It is funny - looking at the dash on this early- 90's vehicle, it is not too dissimilar to my 78 Ford Fiesta, insofar as simple black plastic, dashboard, seating etc.

Not much changed over the 20+ years in economy car interiors between them!

Those were cool days. My contribution is my first car, a '90 (or '89, can't remember) Camry 4WD AllTrac.

Here's the commercial.

My mom actually drove it when I was growing up, and it became my first car in 2005. Got rid of it with over 600K... guy I sold it to still drives it around with over 900K on it.

How did you drive the car? Couldn't possible steer and work pedals at the same time.

I didn't, until I was 16 and it had like 588K on it.  ;D
