I ordered a new coolant-pump for the Cayenne yesterday.  Sounds like the bearings are starting to fail in it, there's a rumble that wasn't there previously.  Local guy (Mike at Import Auto Supply, good little shop BTW) is getting me one for $220, should be here Monday.

While Mike's price is $100 cheaper than the local NAPA I did find one for $96 online at Autopartsway.ca when I got home.  Oh well, supporting local business.

NAPA wanted over $400 for a serpentine belt.  Parts guy and I both had a good laugh

Gurgie's car is pretty quick.  Pretty sure we didn't even get passed with me driving it in the open group in the afternoon.  I remember passing a 911 Turbo or something though haha.

Very balanced too, I was able to slide the rear out around corner 8 and set myself up for the exit.  This made Gurgie breath heavily for the next 10 mins.

Yup, Wing, you scared the sh!t outta me with those slides, I didn't realize you were doing that on purpose & thought I was gonna end up with a 30yr old paper-weight, lol! Great times tho & a HUGE learning experience for me, which I appreciate immensely, so a big thanks again!

Polished the headlight lense on the vw using my polisher.  Still some spots of areas not perfectly clear.  Ah well.

Adjusted the side brake for the bimmer at the drums.  Theres still some noise coming from the brake cable bouncing around in the corners but what the hell.  Could be worse.

Noticed the inside rear is wearing more than the outside rear.  Just means im not taking corners quite fast enough, right?   ;D

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

Washed both cars for the first time in months. Low priority these days, but still happy to get it done.  It's kind of my chance to put eyes on every inch of both cars to check for paint chips, etc.

Both cars are black. Might be a good idea to buy vehicles in colors that hide dirt next time....

Being there, done that one.  Just a sh*t show!  and @ 20 bucks a liter it gets really annoying.

I didn't even think of the $20/bottle, I was more pissed off with oil that got all over my shorts, then down my leg & onto my flip flops that I was wearing   :rofl2:

I would probably just pay an independent to do it.  If it's not as straight forward as most mainstream cars..

That's why you can't have nice things  :rofl2:

Or at least why you can't have a 30 year old Porsche

Yeah I am way to young for something like that!  :-)

Bah, speak for yourself!  ;D

When the subie got repaired awhile ago .. managed to break the small, PLASTIC (grrrr) part that is vital to tensioning the A/C belt.  Finally got around to ordering and installing - now that air conditioner season is rapidly fading.

(actually partly my fault it broke .. but I think partially it was just old and brittle and didn't take much to break)

The Porsche's dash is pretty modern for '86  :P.

All kidding aside, how long has it been with the GC now?
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

I got the GC on June 17th, so about 2.5 months only. It's made 2 trips to Toronto & back, plus Myrtle Beach & back. It will probably take me 7 months now to put on another 10k kms on it, ha, ha, ha!

Late post, but w/e. On Sunday I gave the garage at home a good end of summer cleanup. Took all the cars out, moved all the other junk outside and pressure washed the floor. Let it dry and then organized everything back neatly, tossing out a bunch of crap. Garage feels so much better. Washed the SLK while I was at it, it was filthy with dust just from sitting around. It was a good day. The garage at my grandmother's place is next on the list...

Took one quick photo with all the cars outside

Great job, I did a similar job yesterday.  Took everything out, cleaned the floor.  Put the pop up trailer in, my landscape equipment, and 8 tires.  Barely closes.  It will be easier when the lawn stuff gets put away.  Didn't have enough time to clean the vehicles, but it is supposed to rain soon....

my neighbour was tearing up his side path next to my driveway, so he asked if i would mind moving my cars for fear of a mishap with his excavator...

so that meant i had to get everything going... took the cover off the pacer and attached the jumpers and off it went... i still haven't actually fixed it though, so it still needs the jump even after a good run. i would assume the alternator is just shot. can't be surprised considering it is coming on 42 years old.

my son hopped in and wanted to go for a spin... so we cruised downtown dundas... it is funny the looks and comments it gets. a literal 4 minute drive had 3 thumbs up, two cars next to us talking to me and two others yelling out, "nice car!"... lots of funny looks and quiet comments too.
i used to be addicted to soap, but i'm clean now

You are truly a hero amongst men having that many cars in a suburban neighborhood with a standard double garage AND most importantly having a wife that understands and supports you  ;D

Lighten up Francis.....
