^^^^^^

is that Kelso???   :o
they have snow????

FINALLY got to ride my Fatbike Sunday morning.   No snow but frozen ground.
The first couple km threw me off, I had to get used to the steering a little bit.   But after that... .
whoa!!!!!!   WAY TOO MUCH FUN!!!!   The grip the tires have are insane!!!!!!!!
I wondered what it would be like with a heavier bike, those bike tires.   It's been years since I've had two chainrings up front.   Well I picked a gear and went with it.   It climbed like a goat and I had no issue jumping over logs.    I think this bike will become one of my favorites!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Kelso....we rode all the difficult and extremely difficult trails. Add snow and ice and it was a tad scary.....Note the snow making in progress  :) I asked about acquiring a Fat Bike at my shop and they said good luck in getting a quality unit now, most are sold out. All the good names underestimated the popularity   >:(

This sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe I should dumb my Cannondale and replace it with a fat bike. I will have a lot of rail trails very close to my new place.  :light:

I think it would be well worth it (but keep the Cannondale)  - it's never worth selling a bike.
After riding the Fatbike and feeling just how much fun it is.   WOW... it's one of those bikes that seemed to be good for minimal use but will actually be a lot of fun year round.

looks like that was a lot of fun!!!!

much of the Fatbike stuff for the last 3 years have sold out like crazy.  It's exploded and they can't seem to keep up.   However......  my shop has the same Salsa I have (one left in Medium) and he can't get anymore. (sold out of course)  If that's your size and you're interested... let me know!

I'm guessing Snowpants needs a large frame due to his height.

He could also check here:  http://www.thebikezone.com/fat-bike/

XL!  wow!

Snowy doesn't look that tall in his pics.   :P

the good thing on the XL frames is you're not in the most common frame size.
however, they make less of them.

The 2015 Salsa Mukluk 3 would be your sweet spot.
it's a little on the heavy side but will loose weight over time with upgrades.
You're not paying an arm and a leg for it and it's a brand that's one of the originals (at making Fatbikes)
I seriously wouldn't bother with suspension with a Fatbike (unless you live in out West of something like that)

Look on Kijiji for a fat bike, there were loads a few months ago, doesn't have to be new.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

these are pretty sweet and they're pretty much new.

$2000 US, I paid my Fat Boy $2400 CAD, taxes included. I think with the exchange it's pretty much a wash.

BTW did 2 - 2hres ride last week end in MSA. Now using mostly the singletracks who are used for snowshoeing in the winter time. Snowshoes make perfect Fat bike tracks. Hafd to trim my bars however, those ultra large bars where not so great in narrow singletracks.. Got a heavy snowfall everytime I touched a small tree with the bar end...

Cool!  When I rode in Spain I was hoping to have team SKY fly past us as we were riding where they do some training but it never happened.

Figured I won't be riding anymore this year so posting my totals. Even though my distance was quite a bit less this year it was my strongest year. Set a tonne of PR's and felt my training was more focused. Looking forward to 2015, getting stronger and setting more PR's. I'll have a new area to ride in so everything will feel fresh to start of with plus I've already been 'strava segment stalking' to see where I can attack first.  ;D
